Tracking Nutrition & Calories
I have found the biggest component for me to feel good, is to make sure that I stay hydrated and that I am eating as well balanced meals.
The two apps that I have found that work best to track hydration and nutrition (calories) are:
- MyFitnessPal – Is a great app for tracking calories, but there is also a feature to track some of the major nutrients like Calcium, Iron, Potassium, and Vitamin A.
MyFitnessPal makes it easy to add food to the calorie counter portion of the application by using the camera on your phone as a barcode scanner.
MyFitnessPal also works really well with your Frugal cooking at home lifestyle because you can build your own recipes in the application, and tell the application what a portion is, and then you can easily tack calories from home made meals.
I have lost weight in the past using this application, and am currently on a 25 day streak in the application.
- WaterYourBody – Why MyFitnessPal has a feature to track hydration I have found that it is not as easy to use as WaterYourBody, and I have found that I like the charts in WaterYourBody.
WaterYourBody also has a feature that reminds you to log your drinks if you go too long during the day without logging your water consumption.
The application also has a nice feature that lets you customize the size of containers in the app, meaning you can quickly add your most consistently consumed container sizes of water.
